KingdomCraft, as most any other server, has a set of rules. They're easy to follow, and they're set in stone. There is no bend in rules, and there is no exceptions. Follow them and we all have a great time. Break them and I guarantee you will be punished. Here is a full list of the rules, and detailed explanations of them all. This list overrides any rules on the server. If you have been punished for breaking a rule, read this to find out exactly what rule you broke. If you see someone breaking these rules, Screenshot it (F2) and post it in the Forums under the appropriate Thread.
Rule 1: No griefing! We define griefing as it's original definition. To cause grief to players, towns, structures, staff, or any other thing related to the server. Basically, we want this server to be a fun and safe place to game for all Minecraft players. If you are making people not enjoy their stay, you are breaking this rule.
Now, there are some instances where a player is being too touchy about things. For instance, if you're building anything in the wild, it is 100% fair game. If you're being ridiculous about something, and only complaining about something to get someone into trouble, then they aren't in any breach of the rules. The reason we have this rule is so the Admins don't have to log in and solve a billion petty issues from players who are just being mean to each other. You're old enough to play Minecraft, be old enough to share and not fight.
Rule 2: No Spamming! That means repeating the same thing over and over, or typing in all caps, or even mostly caps. Do not post line after line of song lyrics if people are getting irritated by it. Basically, don't do things that will irritate people in the chat, because we want the server to be a fun and positive experience!
Rule 3: No advertising! This means you cannot come onto the server and try to bring people away from the server, because that's basically treason! It's fine if you made a YouTube video about "How to make an Ebony sword in Skyrim" or something that ISN'T taking away from the server, and post a link to it. But we just want people to stay in our community. If you REALLY must share a different IP with someone, be respectful and do it through email or Skype. DON'T private message through the server, because we Admins will see it, and you WILL be banned. Please just respect our server. We work hard for our server, and we wouldn't want some random person coming on to ruin it all for us!
Rule 4: You are not from Planet Minecraft! A lot of the time, you get people who come on to the server and say, "I'm from Planet Minecraft, OP me so I can review your server!" Okay, here's the thing. PMC doesn't send people out to review servers. Even if they did, they wouldn't need OP. And even if they did need OP, I wouldn't give it to them. Not even the Admins are opped. So please, save yourself the trouble, and don't even say it. Basically, this rule is saying "Don't ask for things you know we won't give you". This includes fly, creative, god mode, food, blocks, money, OP, ranks, disguises, or any other special permissions not listed here. All Admins know what they can and cannot give you (There is a page HERE on details about that) so do not tempt them. Because if they are caught breaking a rule, they will likely be demoted to Peasant and possibly even temp-banned. The ONLY ones who can give you free stuff listed above is the Owner and Pwner of the server. And even then, both me and Ian have to agree in most cases about it. So long story short, don't ask in game. Ask on the forums.
Rule 5: Do not excessively curse! We say "excessively" because we are (mostly) mature adults here, and we understand that cussing is a way of expressing emotions more forcefully. Let's say you're really upset that you mined straight down into lava, and lost all your diamond stuff... you can say "What the hell!" or "Oh, sh*t...", but we do not allow the F*ck word and we also do not allow using Jesus or God in a derogatory way (it can be considered even more offensive than the f*ck word if you are religious). Also, we don't want to hear you cussing for no reason at all. That is mindless profanity, and it's not cool.
On that note, we may allow cussing to a certain degree, but we do NOT allow cussing or any words (no matter how mild) that are directed to another player. Nigg*r or any other form of that word is extremely offensive and racist, and I personally check the server logs every day for that, and will insta-ban anyone who says this, even if nobody else was online. Do not call people stupid, doltish, moronic, dumba**, a**hole, motherf***er, idiot, scrub, bastard, etc. etc. etc. No forms of these words, or any word meant to cause discomfort or harm to another player will ever be tolerated. Upon first offense, you will usually be warned with a short mute. Second, a much longer mute. Third, probably a temp-ban. Do not put down others. It's immature and stupid.
Final note, if you want to insult someone, you are allowed to call them a great, supine, protoplasmic, invertebrate jelly. Only because nobody will actually understand what that even means, so it's only going to make you look stupid... but smart at the same time...
Rule 6: Follow what the staff says! This is very simple to follow! If they rank higher than you, follow what they say! This doesn't apply to regular player ranks, but staff ranking. A peasant does not have to listen to a Squire, but a Peasant HAS to listen to a Moderator or Admin. Even if you are Royalty, or you've donated $500 to the server or whatever, you STILL have to listen to the staff at all times. No matter how much you've donated or done for the server, you still have to abide by all rules. Failure to do so will result in unbiased and immediate punishment.
Speaking of punishment, if you are banned, you CANNOT extort or buy your way back onto the server. If you want to be unbanned, post in the "Ban Appeals" part of the forums. The Admin who will unban you will reply to your post telling you that you are no longer banned and why, or they will tell you what you need to do to get unbanned. IF I SEE THAT AN ADMIN HAS UNBANNED YOU WITHOUT YOU POSTING IN THE FORUMS OR THEY HAVE NOT REPLIED TO YOUR POST, or the ban is not documented, I will investigate, and if I find that the Admin is giving you special treatment for ANY reason (I don't care if you're their best friend, or if you gave them money, or for no reason at all) then I will BAN that Admin and you. And it will take a lot of work for both of you to ever come back. It is a serious offense to me when you bribe my Admins, and they know that I see everything, so they will not risk me seeing if they break a rule, because I will make their day terrible if they do. Bans should ALWAYS be handled from the forums. If you're not posting there, you're not getting unbanned. The end.
Again, these are the 100% official rules. There is no bend or break in these rules. The only way these rules can be changed is by me or Ian. Ian is the supreme decider of rules, I am the wise one whom he usually councils with to decide. He is Theoden, I am Gandalf. He is Balgruuf, I am Irileth. Get the picture? Me and him have been friends for a long time now, and we'll probably always be pretty equal on the server staff, but in the end, it IS his server, and he does pay for it. So I will advise him as I always do, but he does make the final decision if he wants something different. If you have something you want to bring up to us, use the forums or our contact information. Well, enjoy the server, everyone! And have a great day!
